EVALUATION OF FOOD SAFETY AND QUALITY USING MICROFLUIDIC LAB-ON-A-CHIP

Description:
The advancement of microfluidic and nanofluidic systems enable rapid development of “lab-on-a-chip” for the applications in different fields, such as biomedical diagnostics, environmental monitoring, and healthcare platforms. Its application in agri-food is still in the early stage, but grows extremely rapidly. In this workshop, we will introduce and discuss how “lab-on-a-chip” can be applied in agri-foods. Some applications include but not limit to: detection of chemical and microbial hazards in food commodities, food emulsion processing, food formulation, and food authentication.

Target Audience:
Graduate students and postdoctoral fellows working in microfluidics and Lab on a Chip with interest in the application to agriculture and agri-foods. Academic researchers. Representatives from the industry, especially biotechnology and agri-food industry.
